Department of Building and Plant Engineering is a study that deals with a number of diverse spheres - including construction, plants, humanity, energy and environment - in order to create human-friendly optimal living and working environments and the cultivation of energy efficient building systems to cater for the green generation.
Thus, it is an active and rapidly expanding field of multi-disciplinary issues that requires synthetic knowledge and technology from talented engineers who want to secure a job position after graduation.
Humanity is the principal agent in our society of knowledge and information. We spend valuable and productive time in buildings and house that should be created to enhance the productivity and creativity of our work and social lives.
The design construction and flexible of facilities is an essential part of today's buildings and cities. They influence the use of our space as well as cultural activites, our routines and lifestyles. As society grows, new challenges are required for facility engineers to create new technology and improve knowledge and values.
As today's buildings and facilities increase in size and flexible functionality, so do the requirements of a higher quality of living and working spaces. The role and functions of the facilities need to be more advanced, systemized, automated, intelligent and green.
To satisfy newly emersing requirments, there is ad increasing demand for talented persons with expertise in smart green building and zero energy housing, design, re-modelling and renovation, environmental friendly facilities as well as in the building automation, communication technology, visualization systems and office management. We introduce not only a fundamental knowledge of building, plant facilities, energy systems, but also in-depth knowledge of the synthetic facility design, construction and management. We aim at producing creative, internationally competitive engineers with a degree of excellence.
Hanbat university's department of Building and Plant Engineering is the only one of its kind in a national university in Korea, with over 300 students, over 1,600 bachelors, 100 masters, and 5 Ph.D. degree alumni, and in particular 45 professionally licensed engineers. Based on this history, we are deploying activities in diverse fields such as building and plant facilities, energy industry and engineering, as well as industry fierds and public office.
Hanbat's faculty, staff and alumni will sincerely co-operate in the leadership of new facility industry and the creation of human-friendly opimal living and working environments, through the education of creative and intelligent facility engineers. In addition, we will do our best to pioneer the green generation - the fosterage of talented students interested in developing not only green buildings, but future more green cities, green Korea and a green world.
